Thanks! "Gitna" is Tagalog right?

Young Minds of Pandan said...

its also a local term which means middle..pls correct my symbol..its actually gabi with impit on the first syllable..

Filipinayzd said...

I see.

There are two syllables, "gab" and "i". Right? If so, it is "gab-i" similar with Cebuano. Glottal is in "i". Hyphen is used since it is preceded by a consonant.

Young Minds of Pandan said...

no its not gab-i..its ga-bi..but the first sylabble has an impit where "pakupya" is usually used..

Where is the stress, in the GA "gâbi" (just like gabi/yam with glottal) or in the BI "gàbi" (fast "gab-i"?

it's in the first syllable..as in GAbi..

Good day!

Hi I am Judith. I am seeking help to translate a Bicolano Folk song "Sa Baybayin nin Sisiran". Would you be kind enough to help me understand the lyrics in tagalog. I need to sing it this week and I don't want to sing a song i do not understand. Thanks so much for your help.

Here are the lyrics which I also got from the internet:

SA BAYBAYON NIN SISIRAN
BULAN ALDAW NAWILIHAN
TANAW ABOT TINAWAGAN
DYAN TAKA NABIDBIRAN

NAGSABAY SA MGA ALON
SI KABA NIN SAKONG PUSO
KAN SA KUYA MO SABIHON
TUNAY MONG PAGKAMOOT

HAEN NA DAW NGUNYAN NENANG
HAMIS NIN SATONG SUMPAAN
SI PANGAKO MO SAKUYA
NA AKO DIMO LINGWAN
SIRING SA AQUING NAILO
NAGHIBI PAGHALE MO
AN BAYBAYON NIN SISIRAN
DAMAY MAN SA MUNDO KO

UYA PA AGOM
NAGHAHALAT SA IMO
SA BAYBAY SISIRAN
SANGKOD PA MAN!

Salamat po ule.

@Judith

This is the best I could come up with:

SA BAYBAYON NIN SISIRAN
BULAN ALDAW NAWILIHAN
TANAW ABOT TINAWAGAN
DYAN TAKA NABIDBIRAN
Sa baybayin ng Sisiran
_____
_____
Diyan kita nakilala

NAGSABAY SA MGA ALON
SI KABA NIN SAKONG PUSO
KAN SA KUYA MO SABIHON
TUNAY MONG PAGKAMOOT
Sumabay sa mga alon
Ang kaba ng aking puso
Nang inihayag mo sa akin
Tunay mong pagmamahal

HAEN NA DAW NGUNYAN NENANG
HAMIS NIN SATONG SUMPAAN
SI PANGAKO MO SAKUYA
NA AKO DIMO LINGWAN
Nasaan na kaya ngayon, Nenang
Tamis ng ating sumpaan
Ang pangako mo sa akin
Na ako'y 'di mo kalilimutan

SIRING SA AQUING NAILO
NAGHIBI PAGHALE MO
AN BAYBAYON NIN SISIRAN
DAMAY MAN SA MUNDO KO
Tulad ng anak na naulila
Umiyak [ako] pag-alis mo
Ang baybayin ng Sisiran
Damay din sa lungkot ko

UYA PA AGOM
NAGHAHALAT SA IMO
SA BAYBAY SISIRAN
SANGKOD PA MAN!
Andito pa [ako], asawa
Naghihintay sa 'yo
Sa Sisiran Bay
Habang panahon
